Mash Up. A term that refers to taking two different songs and basically
throwing them together to get a new animal. Producer Danger Mouse
initially became popular for his creation of "The Grey Album". It was a
the music of The Beatles' "White Album" to the lyrics of Jay-Z's "The
Black Album". That particular instance was done with 2 very specific
albums. Imagine using the musical universe to choose from. And not
limiting yourself in any way, shape, or form. Want to hear Cheap Trick
to a hip hop beat? How about some Jimi Hendrix thrown into all that? Half
the fun of this album, besides the never ending tapping your foot does, is
the constant guessing of the mix ups. Ever want to hear Soul II Soul's
"Back to Life" mixed with a little LL Cool J? Yep it's here. This album
is great for parties, dancing, working out, jamming in the car and any
other time you just want a pick me up. There is no need to highlight any
one track cause it is really like one big party. Put it in. And get
dancing.
